Sisters

These are our two kitties - Oreo & Pepper!  They are sisters who actually get along very well together.  We got them in March of 2020 when they were 10 months old (they were born on 5/5/19).  Since moving to Florida, they have become big fans of the outside air.  They love to stare outside and watch the geckos and bunnies.

It was a beautiful summer night and it had just stopped raining when this appeared!

What a day I had yesterday with my son! It was truly one of the best father/son days I've ever had with him. It started with going to the day game of a Red Sox double-header (this was a make up game from a rain out on 4/13/2011). Our friends Mark and Dan joined us as they had tickets as well. We left Lowell at 11:15am and it was an adventure - to say the least! We arrived at my usual parking place only to find out there was no daytime parking for the ballgame. Well, that was an unpleasant surprise. By the time we finally found a parking garage and started to make our way to Fenway, it was 12:55pm and the game started at 1:05pm.

In an effort to make it there on time, we took one of the "pedi-cabs" (folks on bikes pulling a 2-seater behind them) to avoid the 20+ minute walk to the park. That was a great idea and we finally got to our seats at 1:13pm. We missed a few minutes of the first inning, but all was good once we sat down.

The Sox were down 1-0 after the first inning but Jacoby Ellsbury belted a 3-run homer in the third and that was all they needed. Lester went 7 innings, Bard struck out two in the 8th and Papelbon came on for the 9th. He got the first 2 batters out and then Pedroia made a diving catch over the second base bag to snag the final out and they won 3-1. The weather wasn't perfect, but we were protected from the elements so it turned out great.

My son repeatedly told me how much fun he was having and that was great to hear. After that game, we headed up to Lowell to watch the New York-Penn league Single A all-star game. Again, accompanied by Mark and Dan, we also picked up my girlfriend, Christine. Roger and Mark (a different Mark) met us there and all 7 of us were ready to watch the game. By then, the sun was out and the temp was perfect for watching a baseball game. We arrived just in time to watch our own Lowell Spinner, Seth Schwindenhammer, win the Home Run Derby. We had so much fun watching the game and then we stayed for a fantastic fireworks display that capped off a wonderful day.

By the time we got home, we were both exhausted but very happy with the day we had. It could not have been more prefect.
